The objectives of this study are: first, to analyze corporate behavior and practices in the Korean Nano industries with respect to technological innovation; and second, to identify and determine the appropriate market and corporate structures that can promote technological innovation. This study therefore analyzes corporate behavior in the Korean Nano industries regarding technological innovation, on the basis of the hypotheses of Schumpeter. Aiming to find and develop corporate structures that can more actively and effectively support technological innovation in the Korean Nano industries, this study surveys the relevant business statistics from 2008 through 2013. In conclusion, in case of entire Nano Industry in Korea, in both input and output models, they rejected the Schumpeterian Hypothesis. it proves that smaller firms are technically more innovative and it also corresponds to the significance of reject of the inverted U hypothesis. Additionally, most noticeable from the Nano subfields result is the result of Nano-bio industry. It is the only subfield that accepted both hypotheses which signifies that the technological innovation is more actively incurred in medium sized firms. Lastly, the empirical analyses of the market structures and firm sizes for the five subfields of the Korean Nano industries will serve to attract greater attention to the important, yet under-explored, topic of the relationship between industrial structures and technological innovation. The findings will also provide valuable basic data and information needed to ensure the development of the Korean Nano industries in the future.
