Pyeongdong dolmen site is located at Pyeongdong-ri, Baegun-myeon, Jecheon-si, Chungbuk, Korea.
It is assumed that the location of the site might closely have been related to the geomorphology of the surrounding area. Consequently, the arrangement of the dolmen would be correlated with the position of the running direction of wonseocheon rather than the hill behind the site.
The type of dolmen is several flat stones supported the capstone.
To build this dolmen, wedge stones were used to maintain the balance of a capstone and support stone props.
There are signs of burning flame both underneath the horizontal capstone and around the vertical slab-stones,
casting a doubt on the usage of a dolmen as an ancient burial structure.
The word turtle rock(龜岩) inscribed on the capstone seems to suggest a connection with the ancient turtle mythology.
