There are over 1 milion bicycle riders in 8 different cities(Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejun, Ulsan , Incheon, Suwon). To determine bicycle rider’s understanding and realization its role performance of the bicycle roads, this research selected random bicycle riders from these cities. To collect the data, this research distributed self-questionnaires to the bicycle riders and used quota sampling method.
567 self-questionnaires were distributed and 67 insincere questionnaires were discarded. For this research 500 self-questionnaires were used through Frequency Analysis, one-way ANOVA, and post verification method(Scheffe) to collect the data. This study used these methods at 0.05 significance level. Applying these research processes and methods, this study discovered following results.
First, from these self conducted questionnaires, the purpose of the bicycle riding was for the recreation sports. The research showed the high results in spending time from 30~60 minutes and 1~2 times a week for their riding exercise using the bicycle roads.
Second, the data of self-understanding questionnaires showed in a highest result in awareness of the bicycle roads. Also, their willingness to use the bicycle roads from this questionnaire showed in the highest result. Moreover, the use for this bicycle roads resulted in 1~2 times a month, and its purpose for using them was for the recreation sports exercise.
Third, there was a significant difference on bicycle roads’ role performance based on personal characteristics. After an end result, this research came up with a strong attention and understanding for the development of the bicycle roads. Also, this showed that the nation must create consistent attention for further development and maintenance of the roads and must not neglect the bicycle friendly infrastructure. Therefore, this nation must provide much higher policy to reach higher satisfaction interest of the bicycle roads.
