This study conducts an analysis on the determinants of the total factor productivity with telecommunication facilities investments by using random coefficient model for the 16 metropolitan and provincial regions in Korea. The estimation coefficients with including the telecommunication facilities investment in production function as a production factor show that total telecommunication investment, fixed telecommunication investment, and the mobile telecommunication investment have statistically significant effects on the output. In addition, the results of the determinants for the total factor productivity which is characterized as an dependent variable indicates that capital and labor per capita have a negative effect on the total factor productivity, however, three different types of telecommunication investment, energy consumption per capita, and research and development per capita have a positive relationship with total factor productivity. We except from this results that telecommunication investment based on the different regional production
structure can increase the total factor productivity and can be used as a policy guidelines.
