Pacific Era which has been the most popular topic these days means a change of world economy brought out by the movement of the center of world market place to Asia in which 3.5 Billion people, approximately 70% of world population, are gathered around. Among Asian countries, Korea, China, and Japan shall be the power house in which 1.6billion population lives. In order to survive and compete with Japanese and Chinese of more than 1.5billion population, what the best method to resolve shall be. We have been trained to mock up to sell what Europe and U.S.A has created in overseas markets. This has originated the mass production of western `Pseudo Design` which should have to be sold at a dumping price. We now have reached a common sense to develop our own design concept through our heritage of design philosophy and perspective as soon as possible getting rid of practice of coping and imitating, Europe and U.S.A. has been all wet to find a oriental design to sell in China. Design would have a strong locality. The only was to achieve a high-value differentiation of design is to develop typical oriental design. From now on, the most important strategy of corporations shall be the development of Asian Design. Just like italy has made their design to represent European design, Korean beauty shall be represented to symbolize oriental beauty. The most important thing is to make the characteristics of Korean design be the one of oriental design. In this regards, to take a part in the development of China while the country is on a wind of change is understood as a good chance as Korean Army`s participation in Vietnam War. In order to take chances in the China business, typical oriental design developed by Korean design is issential. Now Korea shall be remembered as "the best design country in oriental region." In line with this resolution, We will learn "world`s top level` of western heritage which has formed world`s design trend and at the same time identify our "potentiality" through conventional furniture and decorative crafts which would put oriental design shoulder to shoulder with western masterpieces maintaining the identity of "Forming new design trend in convergence of the west and the east". In order to achieve this image We will do its best in improving general level of our design and cultivating excellent designers.
