Now a days lifestyle and culture is changing due to rapid economic growth, globalizing, and information-oriented society. Not only the consumption value of consumers but also the structure of consumption and the form of consumption life is changing. Also consumers now desire to find more reasonable, new and various one. To satisfy the consumer"s need, circulation markets are coming up with various forms of distribution structure and trying to build new shopping environments. Also they are working hard to provide contents and services with differentiated sensibility to consumers. As the consumption value changes, consumption of luxury foods had increased and food trend is changing annually. Hence, in this research, we are going to elicit the spatial feature of domestic premium food hall in department store and suggest new spatial strategy of food hall in department store so that consumers can satisfy and the circulation space can be developed. This research comprehends the circulation and department store and defines premium food hall in department store. After figuring out why premium food hall in department store appeared and how is it doing, we will distribute the element of interior space of premium food hall in department store.
And we will arrange the spatial feature for each type of premium food halls by distributing its case into goods, function, design, and program. On the basis of arrangement, by using the best spatial feature with differentiated design strategy and composition of circulation space, we will suggest and plan store design. This research"s purpose is studying spatial feature for each type of food halls. We choose some premium food halls like Shinsegae main store"s food hall, star field Hanam food hall, Apgujeong galleria department store food hall and Pangyo Hyundai department store food hall as subjects of study.
