This study has an aim of presenting design prototype of smart apparel, which has utility and feeling of wear on the basis of result of demand in survey of potential consumers for the smart apparel for skiing and snowboard, This recognition results from the necessity for the development of smart apparel, which has the art and the technique to pursue unique personality and freedom for the young skiing· snowboard. They are in pursuit of new lifestyle in the digital times and Ubiquitous environment. First, the method of the study is to enquire into necessary conditions for the smart apparel design on the basis of the concept of smart apparel and surveys home and abroad. Second, the potential demand of consumers for the skiing and snowboard was practically analyzed through questionnaire by analysing the purchase of users` skiing· snowboard wear, the condition and demand of mobile computing, and the preference of style and function of smart apparel for the skiing· snowboard. In case of the information on the survey, its analysis was made, using SPSS 11.0 Version for the Window-based. In the event of provision in statistics of population, technique statistics was calculated, and of the condition of purchase, mobile computing and smart apparel, frequency and percentage were obtained through frequency analysis. The table of cross was drawn, and analysis of table of cross was made by testing squaring X2 to see the connected degree among more than two categorical variable. In consequence of this study, after establishing the concept of "Arty Puzzle" for the development of design in this study, a design has been developed. The deep-interview was practiced by 7 point-standard on the basis of preceding survey in smart apparel to evaluate utility and the feeling of wear in design. As a result, the prototype of smart jacket for skiing·snowboard considering utility and the feeling of wear has been made.
