This study aimed to verify the effects of the sports club activities of early adolescents on self-esteem, exercise emotion, and adaptation to school life. The subject of this study was 577 elementary school students from the fourth grade to the sixth in the elementary schools and sports clubs in three districts in Seoul. As a result, first of all, the participants joining both after-school sports activities and outside sports clubs had higher self-esteem than those with no sports activity. Secondly, the four subordinate factors of exercise emotion - joy, pride, purification, and achievement – appeared differently among the groups; The group joining both demonstrated exercise emotion most significantly, followed by the group with one club activity and then the one with no club activity. The vitality factor was distinguishable between the group with both clubs and the others. Thirdly, the class attitude, one of the adaptation -to-school-life factors, showed noticeably higher in the group with both clubs than the others.
