This study aims to analyze and evaluate the results of applying the design thinking process to the creative design stage, based on the STEAM learning standards(frame) drawn by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology(Currently, Ministry of Education) and Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, from the environment-friendly design STEAM education program developed through preceding researches such as 1st & 2nd(pilot) experimental researches and research tasks.
Targeting 13 students of a permanent group(old future) in H women’s middle school in Seoul from July 22nd(Wed.) to July 23rd(Thu.) 2015, total six sessions of class were provided by recomposing the lesson contents in each session of the existing ‘Designing a Warm Classroom’ program. After applying the STEAM education program, the results of each team were analyzed and evaluated through presentation and survey. The conclusion of this study is like below. First, the satisfaction with the STEAM education program applying the design thinking process gave positive effects. Second, through the survey analysis, the design process applied to creative design and problem-solving process was helpful to creative activities in the aspect of developing imagination and ideas. Third, even though the lesson contents were easy to understand in the conversion of contents, there were limitations of thinking process based on the conversion of contents between subjects.
