This study aims to examine the daily life habits of young children and analyze the effect of ecological variables according to the residential regions on children's basic life habits including sleeping, eating, evacuation and play habits. Toward this end, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on the basic life style of young children using a study base of 793 parents with young children, who live in Seoul/Gyeonggi, Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do province. The survey focuses on the following questions; How does the residential regions affect young children's basic life habits including sleeping, eating, evacuation and play habits? Results of the survey on the basic life habits of young children according to the residential regions can be summarized in the following was:
First, the eating habits of young children in Jeollanam-do province including eating breakfast and dinner time were different from that of Seoul/Gyeonggi and Gyeongsangbuk-do province. Second, the playing habits of young children in Seoul/Gyeonggi province including number of playmates and watching television/video hours were different from that of Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do province. Based on the result of the study, some recommendations were suggested.
