The purpose of this study was to identify the difference in internal motives and continuous performance of the university students who have played tennis or play tennis at present, and to verify multidimensional relation between internal motives and continuous performance variables. The subjects of this study were university students who took `Tennis as a Cultural Subject` at the first semester in M, K University located in Gyeonggido. The 297 samples were selected by random selection method. Their response was acquired by the rating scales which went through the Psychology-measuring Validity Test. First of all from MANOVA according to sex, regarding the internal motives of the tennis playing students male students evaluated internal motives higher than the female students in interest/effort factors and tension factor, while there was no significant difference in continuous performance. Additionally when reviewing the relationship between internal motives and continuous performance factors through multiple regression analysis, It was found that three internal motive factors which are forecasting variables could explain the tendency factor which is the standard variable 13.5%, the possibility factor 6%, and the enforcement factor 10.8%. It was also found out that interest/efforts factor influenced tendency factor and capability factor influenced tendency and possibility factors. It means that the students with higher internal motives showed higher level of continuous performance of tennis. These results provide useful information for program as well as theoretical grounds applicable of tennis
