The bilingual and heritage language education in multicultural families is becoming one of the most important issues in host countries. The investigation of policies on bilingual and heritage language education in multicultural countries in which immigration has long been common will provide insights into policies on the language education policies in Korea. Thus, the aim of this research is to suggest future directions for the bilingual and heritage language education policies in the current global setting through the thorough review of the policies on the bilingualism and heritage language education in Canada.
Overall, the objective of this research is to understand the policies on the bilingualism and heritage language education in Canada, particularly in the province of Quebec where there exists two majority languages, French and English, and to provide meaningful insights into the establishment of such policies on multilingual education in Korea.
