Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze and review the speech sound disorder treatment according to the year, disorder type, treatment method and research design type by checking the speech sound disorder treatment study articles. Methods: The study has selected “speech sound disorder related articles” among the articles listed from 1973 to February 2017 on the treatment research database. Results: Until the early 2000s, the trend for article was low with 1 or less article per year, but from 2007 to 2013, it showed the trend of increase or irregularity and from 2014, it increased again and maintained a stable state. Second, according to the type of disorder, speech sound disorder that accounted for the most followed by apraxia of speech and cleft palate/dysarthria, and as for treatment method, it was in the order of traditional approach, phonological approach, communication approach, and mixed approach. Third, the single case design showed the greatest number, followed by randomized controlled trial(RCT), case series, systematic review(SR), and non-randomized controlled trial(RCT) in the order of publication. Conclusions: The study has established a basis in presenting a direction for domestic speech sound disorder treatment research direction through analysis of speech sound disorder treatment research trend related to evidence based practice.
