The purpose of this study is to investigate the development of mathematical meaning composition process and mathematical process skill by observing and analyzing mathematical experience of the 3-year-old children appearing in unfolding shape-project activities. For this purpose, the shape-project was conducted for 10 weeks on twelve 3-year-olds from the kindergarten taking project approach as curriculum. As results, children developed various mathematical meanings, knowledge, and concepts through active communication and cooperation in shape-project. They also demonstrated following five basic mathematical process skills: problem solving, reasoning and proving, communication, connecting, and representation. The results of this study show that mathematical education for children should be developed based on the mathematical experiences in everyday life of children and it is necessary to approach children for them to form mathematical concept and significance through implementing their own mathematical process skills.
