To determine the validity and effectiveness of the recreation leader Ⅱ training program which is currently sponsored by Leisure and Recreation Association in Korea, a self-evaluation on 17 selected workshop courses has covered 8 different areas, such as degree of demand for the subjects, usefulness, creativeness, professional nature, difficulty level of knowledge, class leading methods, length of lecture, and suitability of class room space. The type of leaders to be trained was not specified. However, most students were relatively satisfied with the courses, particularly the activity oriented classes which are more suitable to game leaders. The negative aspects were rejection of some theory classes with more professional nature, and broadness of the curriculum. It is highly recommendable to clarify the type of leaders to be trained, and design a proper curriculum both in terms of quantity and quality to meet their needs.
