Professional development and college education for recreation has long been out of concern mainly because recreation viewed as nothing more than fun play. Regardless the status, recreation gaining more acceptance as essential part of living to most people today. It means that leisure problems becoming a national concern instead of individual origin. Consequently, society calls qualified professionals in the field of recreation and leisure for a better future planning of the country. One of the major instructions which has an important function to meet this demand are the colleges and universities, and they should offer a proper curriculum to train professional recreationists. However, the expected problem that we would have to face in college education for recreation could be; "What kinds of disciplines will be taught?" In view of the nature of recreation experiences, the area of specialization, and psychological and sociological implications, the scope of prerequisites for bachelor`s degree program in recreation should include ; philosophy and principles of recreation, recreation program design and application, psychological and sociological functions of recreation, recreation administration, evaluation and research techniques in recreation, and field experiences in selected service organizations. To solve leisure problems and for better planning, the role of professionals and play leaders should not be ignored, particularly the former, and the college education could be the only answer for this urgency.
