Korea, a member of OECD, is the only country enforcing six days working weekly. Now Korea as facing crossroads of legislation of labor`s 40 hours working weekly. Therefore, the present time is important to be ready for people`s desirable leisure settlement. The present study is to compare between the group which is carrying out five days a week and other group which is carrying out six days a week, and to examine the change of people`s leisure usage caused by carrying into effect on five days working. As a concrete study tools, Beard and Reghab`s research paper(1980), Samsung Economic Research Institute`s research paper, and Hyundai Research institute`s research paper was reorganized. By purposive sampling method, the 301 samples were selected from the first financial group which carries out five day`s work weekly since July, 2002 and the second financial group which operates six days work weekly. As s static method, SAS 8.1 program was used. Then frequency analysis, mean analysis and analysis of variance were examined. The result og analysis are shown as follows: First, the group which includes people who are working five days a week has a tendency that people spends more leisure time with participating sports activity rather than watching, On the other hand, the group which include people who are working six days a week has a tendency that people spend much time with watching games, movies,or concerts. And, five days working group spend more money for leisure participation than six days working group. Second, six days working group desired to participate in a sports which take precedence over the others activity, after reduce the working days by five days. Third, five days working group shows the higher leisure satisfaction than six days working group. As a detail, the group which includes the people who are working five days a week shows the higher social, psychological, physical, environmental, educational satisfaction, and among them, much higher part is physical satisfaction. Forth, as a result of five days working weekly, people has more leisure time and can have an opportunity to take part in several leisure activity. Weekend leisure activity has increased, and more important point is that people can get more opportunity which is bringing self development. As a result shows, for better and ideal participation of leisure activity, social and natural infra or system should be rearranged. New sports leisure program have to be developed because sports will take big part of people`s leisure time usage. Futhermore, labors should spend their leisure effectively based on desirable recognition. present study was performed at the period of transition earring in effect of five days working weekly, hopefully it can be a help to another future study.
