As a school applying Rudolf Steiner`s educational thought, many Waldorf schools are currently operated in the world, which has been developed into an educational movement. Especially, Rudolf Steiner explained children`s developmental process in the 7-year period under the concept of evolution, and moreover, established the chromatics based on extrasensory elements in the relation between perception of color and human nature. Also, actually applying the color harmony to architecture and space, the color principles have been applied to Waldorf school classroom.
In the aspect of historical chromatics, the sensory development of color was established based on the human developmental stage by differentiating from Newton and Goethe for the personality part in the educational aspect. However, currently, there are not clear theoretical principles or accurate analysis on color principles.
In this aspect, it would be very necessary and meaningful to analyze put together researches on chromatics in the empirical aspect. Therefore, the objective of this study is to establish the contents of color principles targeting children, by putting together the contents of educational color and colorimetric researches, and also analyzing correlations between anthroposophic color principles and colors applied to Waldorf school classroom, focusing on Rudolf Steiner"s theoretical color principles.
