This article deals with the paradox of the flexibility and personalization of the labor market in the Dairden Brothers’ Time for Tomorrow (Deux jours, une nuit).
The film focuses on the characteristics of the labor market and the solidarity among the workers, with the main character Sandra, whose job is unstable according to the flexible labor market. In particular, the preceding research on film has been positive in that she views the process of persuading her colleagues to find a job, looking at the ethics and solidarity among the workers. This article affirms the study, but will review the characteristics of the labor market in two conditions first.
First, it will put pressure on the labor market to achieve individual performance, and as a result, workers will turn out to be depressive subjects. In particular, Sandra, who suffered from depression and had to meet people on a difficult basis, will look at modern workers who are suffering from the syndrome of sleeplessness.
It will also approach the duality of ethical behavior that Sandra persuaded and fired her colleagues in terms of ‘personalization’. Her choice is, of course, ethical, but the choice is enforced and consequently the rigidity of the labor market has not changed. In addition the issue of film remains in that it requires morality and ethics to the victim.
