This paper aims at the case study on the Living Lab of domestic and foreign universities and suggests applicability and policy challenges on Living Lab of universities in Korea. In the case of foreign universities, it analyzes the background, business objectives, contents, and results of Living Lab. This study would conduct as multiple case studies which examine incidents about Living Lab of university. The research on Living Lab still remains at an early stage and does not fully related with theories. Thus, theoretical-forming studies are needed rather than theoretical-verifying one for the present. Ultimately, it tries to suggest the significance and improvements of Living Lab of university in order to analyze various aspects of Living Lab.
Nowadays, experiments about Living Lab at domestic and foreign universities have diverse implications. ①It can be used as an important concept for re-establishing relationship between universities and local communities. ②It can create a new model of education and research innovation. ③Living Lab of universities can be utilized as a means of identifying problems and needs that community should resolve as promoting their participation. Finally, it can make momentum for innovation in universities through Living Lab; it can provide an opportunity to share a common vision among inside and outside of universities and to create a consensus on the innovation.
