The purpose of this study was to describe a musical life of college students and identify the perceived power of the relationship between K-12 public music education and the actual musical life of college students in Korea. The Results of this study indicated that college students listened to music because they like listening to music. Also, they listen to music for BGM, emotional stability, stress alleviation. The most favorite genre was K-Pop, the amount time of listening to music a day was about 2 hours, the most favorite tool for listening to music was cell phone (MP3), and they listen to music at night mostly. The impact of K-12 music education on the actual life of college students was very small. The 57% of participants indicated that there was no relationship between K-12 public music education and the actual musical life of college students in Korea and the perceived impact power was 37%. Recommendation and conclusion were provided for Korean public music education.
