The purpose of this study was to analyze difficulties some mothers of multicultural families experience in conversation with their children. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, an in-depth interview has been executed to respectively for six mothers of Multicultural Families and two subjects and seven categories related to this study were drawn by analyzing interview data through qualitative research method. The category mothers of multicultural families experience in rearing their children were the difference of parenting environment, role conflict of fosterer, value conflict of their children- rearing and difficulties of their children-rearing. As for the category of communication with their children, conflict with their children, difficulties of their children-rearing, effort to communicate with their children and demand of support for communication of multicultural families were drawn. The results were as follows;First, mothers of multicultural families who participated in this study had some difficulties rearing their children. Even though mothers were main fosterers, they sometimes had a hard time understanding their children and they felt guilty that they could not foster their children well. Second, the most difficult thing mothers of multicultural families face was that they can not communicate well with their children. Therefore, mothers participated in this study expected different proper education and supports adaptable for their families rather than monopolistic education contents and method when providing multicultural education for the members of multicultural families. Based on the research result, a future direction of multicultural education our society should pursue is discussed.
