The purpose of the study is to think reflectively on what the teachers and children are doing in teacher-directed classrooms and why they are doing those thing in order to ascertain a direction that would improve the qualities of young children’s learning and life. The study ascertains that teachers observed in teacher-directed classrooms did not model or demonstrate their own authentic lives as teachers. Instead, they showed only their hurry to teach children but revealed nothing of their own pedagogical influences as adult-learners. The children were not respected and so, their human rights were violated by their teachers. Furthermore, they were pushed to produce a finished project as proof of their academic skills. These reflection on the behaviors exhibited in teacher-directed classrooms point out that teacher-directed classrooms need to be transformed to teacher and child-directed classrooms to improve the quality of life of young children.
