The goal of this paper is to analyze the US’s viewpoints in Middle East and Islam. In addition, this paper studies the Middle East policy of US on the basis of the viewpoints in Middle East and Islam. The viewpoint in Middle East of the US Executive can be usually found in the doctrine based on the diplomacy policy of US. Namely, when researching the doctrines of the US president, what is based on Middle East is called the viewpoint in Middle East. Strictly speaking, the viewpoint in Middle East is that of the US Executive or the recognition of the US Executive that decides the Middle East policy. Thus, it can be regarded as the perception that decides the Middle East policy of the US. The viewpoint in Islam can be also considered as the US’s comprehensive recognition on Islam religion or the US’s viewpoint which is based on the policy towards Islamic armed group. For the US Executive, especially, the viewpoint in Islam focuses on the Islamic armed group. Thus, this research is a paper that studies the US’s conception or recognition on Middle East or Islam in terms of the viewpoint in Middle East, and the US’s viewpoint or perspective on the politic Islamic circle in terms of the viewpoint in Islam, and in this sense this paper examines Middle East policy of the US . From the system of cold war to 1990, the most important issue of the US was to present and implement the policies for existence and profit of the US, resisting against the USSR in communism system. Thus, at that time the US’s viewpoints in Middle East and Islam were set by focusing on the USSR of the rival relation. Namely, the US and the USSR were in the competitive relation of power in Middle East each other. In this context, the viewpoint in Islam was established and the Middle East policy was taken. The viewpoint in Islam can be investigated in terms of the Islamic revolution of Iran. As 'Islamic Revivalism' was originated in Iran, Iran Islam revolution occurred and there was the tremendous cultural shock caused by the hostage case toward the US Embassy in Teheran. Nevertheless, the US regarded 'Islamic Revivalism' as less important issue because of the policy restraining the USSR. After the collapse of system of cold war, the US took the Middle East policy based on the concepts of main enemy and axis of evil.
