The purpose of this study was to investigate the operation of dietary education and demand of dietary education of preschool children’s mothers in Jeonbuk province. The study was carried out using a self administered questionnaire and the subjects were 275 mothers. The questions were based on the general characteristics of the subjects, operating status at their own house, and demands for dietary education. The results were as follows. Most of the subjects were in their 30’s (74.9%). The frequency of eating a meal with the whole family once a day was 48.4%, the frequency of the dietary education at their own house was more than 3 times per week (44.0%), and education time was the meal time (83.6%). The desirable frequency of dietary education was once per week (40.4%). About two thirds of the subjects (70.2%) recognized the purpose of the dietary education was not only for preschool children but also their parents. The ratio in the core value of dietary education as environment, health, and thanks was 30.10%, 41.35%, and 28.48% respectively. This study concludes that the demand for dietary education program for preschool parents is necessary in preschools.
