This study aimed to analyze the social studies instruction criticism of pre-service teachers to examine the perspective and conflict of social studies instruction and investigate its meaning. In the social studies instruction criticism of pre-service teachers, criticism on various subjects was presented according to the areas of contents of social studies instruction. The result of its categorization focusing on similar subjects showed the following ten criticism types: 1) the meaning and value of social studies instruction, 2) the method of social studies instruction, 3) the content of social studies instruction, 4) the relationship of the content and method of social studies instruction, 5) the steps of social studies instruction, 6) the role and perception of teachers, 7) the level of learners, 8) the relationship of a teacher and students, 9) the relation between social phenomenon and instruction, and 10) the practical situation of social studies instruction. The social studies instruction criticism of pre-service teachers is an important information for verifying and sharing the instruction reflection and instruction practice sense of them that are situated on the border of theory and actuality.
