인간면역결핍바이러스 감염 환자에서 급성골수성백혈병이 발생한 매우 드문 증례의 하나이며, 국내에서는 최초 보고이다. 초진시에는 급성적아구성백혈병(AML M6a)으로 진단하였으나 치료중 AML M5b로 아형 전환되었다. 적아구의 강한 PAS 염색성과 염색체 복합 이상의 소견을 보였다.
