This study is an analysis about the narrator's epic strategy that makes fun of the behavior of characters in the written traditions of Funny Story related to funerals and ancestral rites. These texts contrast the social convention of the discourse community with the deviation of the character. In this way, we exaggerate the injustice and immaturity of the act and discuss about laughter. These laughs are linked to the following three discourse. The first discourse is to discipline ordinary people, who mimic the gentry law in order to share it. This discourse reflects the power of the discourse community. The second is a discourse practice that urges faithful execution of funerals and ancestral rites, which is a tool of governing ideology, to maintain the power of the discourse community. Finally, in reality, there is a gap between Confucianism's Idea and practice. The laughter in these types of stories is meaningful in that it is an open discourse competition in which the discourse community leads to new discourse.
