This article is written to find visual suggestions, as a form of the speaker conscious' ignition in the early Russian realist prose of mid-19th century Russia, or traces of its ‘showing’. It is also an attempt to address the literary context of this ‘showing’ as a form of this ignition. Speaking about most primary acoustic feature of poetry, itself being a form of language art based on letters, direct and essential attempt to broaden its limits is depiction that was mostly used in prose. Having said that, it is impossible to think that depiction stops on merely suggesting the foreground. In other words, the author believes that Russian writers during the period of transformation from romanticism to realism used not only a narrative attitude of ‘telling’ but also the one of ‘showing’ with the possibility to realize it in their works, as well as had profound interest for its application. Thus, it is possible to think that depictions, as previously mentioned in the works of early realism, which had much effort put into them to achieve prosaic reproduction of visual imagery, along with its boldness, were intentionally chosen and expressed by ‘showing’ having linguistic reproduction of visual imagery in mind. In short, if we consider the implication the act of ‘showing’ has in itself - as much as the object of suggestion, meaning what is being shown, is important – we can see that the already thick concentration in the transitional period is even thicker. In this paper, if we try to confirm these ideas in the works of early realism of 1840-50s, we will be able to attempt a search for a possibility to find out that visual and formative description, adding to lyrical poetry that expressed sentiments and emotions of previously romanticism period’s poets, as well as the fact that the route observation of the real world for visual depiction used to penetrate realism has grown wider.
