With Liberation, the Korean peninsula was full of revolutionary waves. Against the will of Korean people, however, the USA that occupied South Korea and created the USAMGIK tried to maintain the status quo and build a bulwark against the communist USSR in South Korea. To accomplish its policy, the USAMGIK found the rightist youth organizations necessary for illegal missions to smash their rivals by violence that it could not perform by legal method. The USAMGIK supported and encouraged the rightist youth organizations to exercise their violence without any restrictions. By this method, the United States finally succeeded in establishing a divided government, the ROK, in South Korea. Korean Democratic Youth Alliance was one of these notorious rightist youth organizations. This paper aims to see Kim Du-han’s White Terror and Korean Democratic Youth Alliance during the United States Army Military Government in Korea (USAMGIK) period.
