The study of overall situation in Korean organic salt industry and organic salt producers demonstrates the urgent necessity of related efforts of the government. It is important to unify these efforts under the jurisdiction of a single authority-Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and introduce a comprehensive middle-short-term plan for developing the industry. System and supporting strategies for agriculture, fisheries and other primary industries should be included in such a plan. The systems of categorized quality control and authenticity validation are needed to ensure the product safety. Operating through small organic salt producers' organizations has its limits. Therefore, the scale of such organizations should be enlarged. This would enhance the processes of production and shipment, and prepare the producers for activation of direct transactions. Organization of conference groups will ensure the improvement of negotiation skills with foreign buyers. Previous studies have mostly concentrated on proving the superiority of organic salt as a food product. Shortage of comprehensive works that suggest the ways of system development is a big problem in academic research on the subject. In this respect, present study takes an important meaning as a starting point of theoretical research of organic salt industry.
