This study estimates the effects of the 2018 minimum wage increase on employment and worked hours. According to the estimation results, when the parallel trend is assumed, the minimum wage increase significantly reduces employment. However, estimating a factor model that does not limit the type of trend by group, the minimum wage increase does not affect employment. When the minimum wage was raised, companies responded by adjusting worked hours of workers rather than employment. The statistically significant adjustment of worked hours occured temporary in January and February 2018. The worked hours of daily workers decreased slightly and the working hours of temporary workers increased slightly.
