Small-business owners have both personal and corporate characteristics. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the local or commercial characteristic information of small business stores is useful for evaluating their credit risks.
For this job, this study selects the restaurant business industry and service business industry in 25 autonomous districts of Seoul. This study analyzed whether the information such as the number of stores, survival rate, opening and closing rate, population, and rent-fee could explain the credit risk significantly.
As a result of the analysis, similar analysis results were found in both of the industries. Especially, the rate showed a significant explanatory power on the closing rate, and the service industry also had a significant effect on the number of general stores and the growth rate of the floating population.
The results of this analysis show that although there are some differences among industries, the characteristics of location information in which the stores are located can be useful information to explain the credit risk of them.
