This study analyzes the contents about dissolution and concentration in elementary school science text books. Also, we find out the pre-service elementary teachers recognition of term through the survey. The results are as follows. The words ‘dissolution and solution’ are first introduced in first semester of the fifth grade and concentration-related dilute a solution preparation in the second semester of the fifth grade and first semester of sixth grade.
Pre-service elementary teacher generally comprehended the definition of the terms except the term concentration %, and M. they are familiar with types of solution which are saturation, unsaturation, and supersaturation. On the other hand, the percent of concept answers about the understanding the comparison between different concentration of solution is only 47.6% which is below 50%. They are lack of experience and knowledge in solution preparation. So, teachers could not grasp the tools of dilute methods and processes of solution concentration when mixing acid with base solution.
Pre-service elementary school teachers are necessary to be educated about concentration meticulously. Moreover, the sequence of education required for knowledge has to be follow in the order handouts >training >classes> videos and the internet. From now on, pre-service elementary school teachers need to retrain on concentration and on-site teachers need to be educated by training.
