In the rapid aging society, the elderly problem becomes an important social problem. Since the awareness of the elderly is a big part in the conflict between the elderly and other generations, the awareness change of the elderly can be a fundamental solution of the elderly problem. This study examines how society members perceive the elderly, and factors affecting negative perceptions of the elderly. To this end, we conduct future signal prediction and sentiment analysis for the elderly, using social big data collected hourly from March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019. Then We calculate DoV and DoD to detect signals for future trends of elderly awareness. After we classify keywords that affect more emotion by logistic regression, we look at whether it is statistically significant and conduct an association analysis to see what the keywords mean in the document. The results show that keywords ‘taegukgi’ and ‘unit’ are related to negative emotions. The ‘senior’ keyword is also related to negative emotions. However, since ‘senior’ itself is positive even if there are many documents with negative images, it is more likely to be included in the positive documents by considering the correlation with other keywords.
