The purpose of the study was to observe the change in attitude and improvement of knowledge on the elderly through experience-based education of university students. The data for the analysis was collected through questionnaire survey method from July 25 to August 23, 2016 and the sample was consisted of 30 participants who were students of various majors, attending K university in Seoul. In order to analyze the effects of experience-based education on attitude towards the elderly and knowledge on aging, the participants were given the 1st set of the questionnaires to fill out, followed by putting on the aging experience kit and trying out what it felt like to be old. The experience took about 3-40 minutes, and when it ended, the participants were given the 2nd set of the questionnaires to fill out about their knowledge on the elderly and aging. The results showed that the adjective showing any change between the 1st and 2nd questionnaire was ‘sick.’ Also, the results of how the experience-based program was effective in changing the knowledge on the elderly and aging, also analysis in categories showed that 47% said ‘It was very helpful.’ and 53% said ‘It was helpful in someway.’ This kind of experience-based education on the elderly was effective in changing the attitude towards the elderly and increasing the knowledge on aging of the university students in a positive direction, and it was helpful in understanding the knowledge towards the elderly and aging more precisely. Therefore, by opening the experience-based education to more students it can give them a chance to gaining more interest in trying to understand the elderly and obtaining more accurate information on the elderly and aging.
