The aim of this paper is to explore meaning constructions in an emergent type of interview, Autocomplete Interview, by conducting a case study of data from an American magazine 〈WIRED〉. It models conceptual structures of the interview discourse data within the framework of Discourse Viewpoint Space (Dancygier and Vandelanotte 2016) to capture the viewpoint interactions transparently. Among a total of 1762 question-answer pairs, the following three major types are discussed: (1) interview discourse with explicitly encoded web user, (2) interview discourse with role and value integration, and (3) interview discourse with conceptual distancing. Each of the types is analysed with special focus on deixis and referring expressions which reveal information on the conceptual structures where viewpoint alignments among interlocutors interact and construct emergent meanings due to its unique settings. With these linguistic cues, viewpoint arrangements are examined, including multiple layers of mental spaces, to see how viewers who watch the interview discourse construe the meaning structure of the video clips.
