Report Errors

This is a study that measures the total factor productivity and efficiency of Korean industry and derives implications. The results have several implications. First, industrial groups with relatively high technological level were improved their efficiency significantly and changed in a positive direction over the period of analysis. Second, the high technological level group needs to further improve TFP in the future by pursuing economies of scale. Third, efforts to improve total factor productivity and efficiency are required by prioritizing each specific industry.
Finally, it is necessary to identify industries with low total factor productivity or low efficiency, or those with low levels of both, and implement industrial policies specialized for each industry.
