Oxidative stress accumulation has a negative effect on metabolic homeostasis. Recently, the antioxidant effects were reported in various compounds derived from natural plants. Ginseng is one of the herbal owing a variety of beneficial effects from its biological components, including polysaccharides. In this study, we separated and isolated the white ginseng neutral polysaccharide (WGNP) and white ginseng acidic polysaccharide (WGAP) of Panax Ginseng C. A. Meyer using anion-exchange chromatography (IEC), and the chemical composition was examed and the antioxidant effect was subsequently assessed.
