The lacquer sap has been used for thousands of years as coating materials and adhesives in Asian countries because of outstanding physical properties of dried lacquer films. The lacquer sap is polymerized at high humidity circumstances by the reaction of oxidation catalyst, laccase. After the polymerization, the lacquer films have high durability for thousands of years by suppressing the oxidation with urushiol polymer and restoring the damaged layer with the other layers below. However, the drying process of lacquer is influenced by surroundings and the components which are different by the producer. So, the physical properties of the lacquer films from various producers according to the drying time were observed to evaluate the drying degree with analytical techniques.
