The purpose of this study is to determine which method is the most effective among low-intensity exercise treatment, sports massage treatment, stability treatment for the reduction of accumulated lactic acid and elevated heart rate according to the type of treatment (low-intensity exercise, sports massage, stability rest) after maximum exercise.
For this study, participants performed total of three maximum exercise load tests while their lifestyle controlled equally.
The result of the study is summarized as followed.
First, the change in lactic acid according to the type of treatment after exercise showed a very significant difference depending on the measurement period (p<.001). As for the difference between groups, low-intensity exercise treatment was found to remove lactic acid faster than sports massage treatment and stability treatment. Additionally, there was a statistically significant difference at 15 minutes of recovery (p<.01).
Second, the change in heart rate during recovery according to the type of treatment after exercise showed a very significant difference depending on the measurement period (p<.001). The difference between groups was that sports massage treatment lowered heart rate the fastest in the 1st and 5th minutes of recovery period than low-intensity exercise treatment and stability treatment. Additionally, there was a statistically significant difference (p<.001).
