낙동친목회는 경상도 지역 출신의 일본 유학생들이 1905년 겨울에 설립한 학회로, 1907년 10월 30일에 학회지인 『낙동친목회학보』를 편찬하였다. 매달 1호씩 발간하여 1908년 1월 30일까지 총 4호를 발간하였고, 이후 대한학회로 통합되었다. 낙동친목회는 지역 출신들끼리 학문을 도모하며, 서로 어려울 때 도와주는 모임으로 결성되었다. 특히 출신 지역인 영남 지역이 구습만 좇는 몽매한 상황을 비판하면서 새로운 학문과 산업을 교육하고 육성하는 것만이 나라가 부강해지고 독립으로 나아갈 수 있는 유일한 길임을 강조하고 있다. 또한 교사양성을 주장하면서 영남 지역에서 우수한 자를 후원하여 유학을 보낸 후, 졸업한 다음에는 다시 지역의 교사로 돌아와 학생들을 교육하는 선순환적 운동을 벌이기도 했다. 이러한 낙동친목회의 지역 운동은 대화체, 몽유록계 서사류 등에서도 전략적으로 활용되었고, 결국 이러한 출신 지역에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 ‘지역성’에 대한 개념과 지역 문학이 형성되었다.

Also, achievements have been achieved through these practical movements. Most of all, they criticize the ignorant situation in which the Yeongnam region rejects the idea of a gentleman while pursuing old school and old customs, stressing many times that educating and nurturing new academics and new industries is the only way for the country to become rich and independent. He also supported and supported outstanding people in the Yeongnam area, and after graduation, he returned to the area as a teacher to educate the local virtuous cycle campaign to educate local people. The regional movement of Nakdong Social Society is also strategically used in the narratives. Through the narratives of the dialogue and the narratives of the Monlyu, young people lived in Choseon expressed their path, responsibilities, duties, and expectations. In the end, various concepts of "Locality" were formed as they recognized these regions of origin in detail, and among them, local culture and local-based literature were slowly being ingested.
