Peace has both social and internal aspects. Despite the fact that peace is related to all aspects of life, research on peace has been made in accordance with individual interests within the boundaries of the major and scholars. Peace on the Korean Peninsula is a common research topic of religious and peace studies. However, religious scholars have overlooked the social aspects of peace, while peace scholars tend to ignore a deep understanding of the inner side of religion. This study provides an integrated perspective on the issue of peace on the Korean peninsula by presenting ‘Religious Peace Studies’ as a new research methodology, which is a fusion of the understanding on human being in religious studies and on society in peace studies.
