Poly(cyclohexane-1,4-dimethylene terephthalate (PCT) has excellent chemical resistance and color safety and is used as a substitute for Bisphenol A in various food containers. Food contact materials may contain trace amounts of heavy metals from residual chemical, additives and contaminants during the manufacturing process. That could be migrated into food when packaging materials are used for handling, cooking and storing.
