The purpose of this study is to find out the methods of integrative teaching-learning of the French language and culture to develop learners’ communicative ability based on understanding context of culture for French major students. The research steps are as follows: (1) establishing goals of a course, selecting and arranging content through examining the results of preceding studies, and (2) following descriptions of cultural contexts and performing tasks integrating the French language and culture in four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing). We found the following results through this study: (1) Cultural components contribute to motivate learners in foreign language teaching-learning, (2) Authentical documents are helpful for learners to understand the target language and culture and to acquire communicative ability, and (3) Learners will cultivate intercultural competence through comparative procedures between native culture and target culture while performing a task.
