While the educational need for digital literacy has increased lately, little progress has been shown in the plan for digital literacy education at school. Recognizing that this lack of instruction is likely attributable to little discussion on the contents of digital literacy, this study aimed to provide the achievement standards for one domain of digital literacy at middle school level. To provide evidence-based data, this study implemented a case study with 12 middle school students and analyzed their literacy practices on the computer. As a result, this study has determined three sub-domains of understanding: 1) locating information; 2) interpretation and integration; and 3) evaluation. The study also proposed 3 to 4 components of each sub-domain. Finally, achievement standards of digital literacy for middle school students are proposed at each sub-domain level. The achievement standards suggested in the study can be used to determine course content on digital literacy for the next curriculum development. Also, follow-up research is expected to explore the level and scope for digital literacy achievement at the elementary and high school levels.
