The purpose of this study was to re-explore the perceived value of liberal arts education by college students. To achieve this research purpose, we set the target population of college students currently enrolled in universities in 2020, and collected data from 500 students from universities located in 5 districts: Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang. did. The collected data were analyzed by sequentially applying soft laddering and hard laddering according to the ATP laddering technique. As a result of the analysis, the main factors of the selection attributes of liberal arts were physical activity preference, interest, interpersonal relationship improvement, and cost-effectiveness. The values were found to be diversity, physical health, professional knowledge, and cost effectiveness. The connection relationship by value structure of liberal arts was first, in the attribute-consequential benefit stage, physical activity preference-goal setting, physical activity preference-mental health promotion, cost-effectiveness-economic benefit. Next, in the resultant benefit-value stage, interpersonal ability improvement-diversity, professional knowledge acquisition-professional knowledge acquisition, economic benefit-cost ratio were shown in the order. Through these research results, it was meaningful to provide basic data for the development of liberal arts.
