In the reality that the dating violence has been occurring frequently in our society these days, its seriousness was regarded as a social issue. Due to the lack of the active state intervention, a crime has developed into the continuous and brutal form in the meantime. But it is the real situation that the related discussions and countermeasures are insufficient. It is the actual condition that a criminal fact is easily concealed and that the damage to the victim" neighbors is growing owing to the peculiarity of an adult relation called a romantic relationship in the case of dating violence. According to this, there is a need to be given priority to the preparation for a system that strives to prevent a crime and protect victims while all citizens recognize the seriousness of the dating violence.
First of all, to introduce ‘Clare’s Law’ and ‘Katie"s Law’ that are being enforced now in England or America, there is a need to thoroughly analyze and verify the efficiency and validity on the prevention of the dating violence following the execution of the system. And then, it should be implemented after passing through the supplementation in line with our reality. Also, the dating violence has high habituality and recidivism risk. Thus, the counseling and treatment program for assailants must be expanded. Through the revision of the current 「Crime Victim Protection Act」, there is a need to protect victims and provide a positive support. If the social perception is improved through the efforts against this dating abuse by all the nation, local governments and social members, the recidivism will be greatly reduced along with the crime prevention.
