After the Korean Wave broke out in Taiwan in the late 1990s, the number of Korean language learners among adolescents also increased. In order to effectively teach these Taiwanese adolescent learners, a study to understand their characteristics is needed. In particular, the interest that learners feel in Korean subjects differs from group to group, and this may affect learning outcomes. Therefore, this study intends to provide reference data by analyzing the relationship between "interest" and "learning performance" of 65 Korean language learners in high school in Taiwan. As for the research method, the average grades for each group with different gender, application ranking, and number of absences were analyzed. The research results are as follows. First, the attendance rate of female students was lower, but their grades were higher than that of male students. Second, by gender, there was a correlation between the number of absences and grades among individuals within each group. Third, the group with a high application ranking (interest) showed fewer absences, high grades, and high female student ratio. Fourth, the attendance rate of female students was lower than that of male students, but their grades were high. Fifth, the effect of application ranking on the number of absences and grades was found to be higher in the male student group than in the female student group. In this study, the significance level between variables in many cases exceeded 0.05, so there is a limitation in generalizing it. However, by showing the characteristics of each group of Taiwanese adolescent learners, it is meaningful to present reference materials so that new assumptions can be established and carried out in follow-up studies.
