As the size of the Chinese economy has grown, analysis of the Chinese industry requires not only the overall industry competition situation but also more detailed status of individual industries. In addition to presenting strategies for competition, cooperation, and market entry in terms of the entire Chinese industry, it is necessary to analyze detailed information on the Chinese region of individual industries and establish a strategy for China based on this. Since the economic size of major Chinese cities is similar to that of large-scale countries, regional analysis of Chinese industry is necessary. Accordingly, this study analyzed the production status, company distribution, consumption market, policy, trade and investment status with Korea by major production and consumption region for major industries such as robots, food, and display. Based on this, Korean companies’ strategies to respond to China and ways to enter the market were explored.
Shanghai is considered to be the top production area for robots and Shandong for food. Anhui and Liaoning are not included in the top 10 in the overall industry, but in the case of robots, they occupy 3rd and 4th places. In the case of food, not only the top production regions, but also the second and third production regions are Henan and Hubei, which is different from the overall industry. As for the display, the 1st production region is Guangdong and the 3rd production region is Jiangsu, so it is relatively similar to the overall industrial production pattern, but it is very peculiar that Anhui has large-scale production facilities in the 2nd place.
Through the study of regional characteristics of major industries in China, it was found that China is developing rapidly in major industries and that China’s role is being strengthened in new industries. Accordingly, it was concluded that it was necessary to identify the development situation of China by each industry, especially the situation in major regions, and to develop a strategy to respond appropriately. In some industries, Korean companies are being expelled or experiencing sharp declines in sales due to competition with Chinese companies. However, as China is the world’s largest market for most industries and is still growing relatively rapidly, it is an unavoidable task for Korean companies to enter the Chinese market. In particular, in order to enter the Chinese market, it is necessary to research and penetrate the market in each region. Marketing is important, but development of products tailored to local characteristics is also required.
